Trish's class are famous again !!
5th and 6th were reading a book about a Syrian refugee who had fled to London after losing his family . They were really impacted by the story and they decided they would like to do something to help . We organised a bake sale and the kids homework for the week was to plan and bake etc . The plan was to use any money raised to buys Christmas gifts for children in direct provision centres . The kids raised €300 and they loved picking out toys they thought some of the children in direct provision centres would like . The highlight of the whole thing was dropping the gifts to Bang Bang a cafe in Phibsborough . They are planning a massive Christmas party for over 500 children living in direct provision centres and we decided we’d like to help them . The cafe owners were so grateful they invited everybody in for hot chocolate and the kids had a great time . It was a very proud moment for all of the kids and they learnt so much from the whole experience
