In 3rd and 4th class we know that the planets in our solar system orbit the sun. We also know that some planets are closer to the sun than others.
In our maths lesson today we ordered the planets based on the km distance from the sun; from closest to furthest away. Then Teacher Aoife converted Astronomical units of distance to centimetres. We could use this measurement to visualise the distances on a smaller scale.
We used 3 metre sticks and help from Ryan in 3rd class as the sun!
