Hello again all! Hoping that everyone is excited that December has arrived and that Christmas is just around the corner. Not ones to be resting on our laurels, we in 5th and 6th have not slowed down since Halloween and we have plenty to update you on.
The first and most recent development we have to tell you about is that we, as a class, are taking part in the 2018 Junior Entrepreneur Project, where classes develop a business within the school in order to turn a profit.
Over the past four weeks, we have been learning the skills of an entrepreneur and developing fun, creative and workable ideas for businesses in Kilcoskan NS. This culminated in a whole class event this past Friday the 1st of December where our class groups presented six different business ideas to our three business 'Dragons' (Mr. Caulfield, Teacher Eoin and our secretary Terri)!
These six ideas were all fantastic, unique and full of creativity and we will be exploring 5 of them on a small scale in school after Christmas.
Our winning idea was one brilliantly titled 'The Hen Hotel', the details of which we will give next term! It was a fantastic day in class and showcased the amazing creativity of our pupils!
